Dig into Executable Resources with Ease.
Windows executable files (EXE, DLL, ActiveX controls) can have all sorts of resources buried within them. Resource Tuner enables you to get at them to modify, save or delete
them. Resources include the applications graphics, icons, cursors, dialog boxes and text. You can view resources, even playing sound and video files.
Resource Tuner offers a thorough look at all of the resources (bitmaps, jpeg, icons, strings, dialogs, PNG, PNG compressed Vista icons, XML, Image Lists, Type Library, etc) in the compiled executable file, and allows you to make modifications without needing to recompile the source code. It also allows you to edit the properties of any controls on Delphi forms within the PE file. You can view and extract images, icons, sounds, animations - all you have found in your application - on your hard disk. That makes Resource Tuner a perfect resource grabber. What Our Users Say

The free products that I tried would not open the resources I was interested in. Plus, the UI is super
easy to use. No muss, no fuss, no vis studio to crash my box. Keep up the good work.

A Little Fun.
You can have a lot of fun with this, especially when you start experimenting with Windows files. Some Windows developers like to have fun with network administrators and technical personnel. One of the dialog box options for Windows XP’s Display Shutdown Event Tracker utility consists of an unusual bit of wisdom. To view this oddity, open Msgina.dll (located in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder) with Resource Tuner. Click the plus sign (+) in front of the Dialog folder and click the 2210 icon.

Instantly Make Legacy Applications Use The
New Look of Windows XP and Vista.
If you want to make an application visual-style savvy and you don't have the source code, you normally have to place a specially-named file in the same directory as the executable. Resource Tuner provides a better solution by enabling you to inject the needed resource directly into the EXE file in just a few clicks. It marks the application as XP-enabled, blessing it instantly with the XP look.

Identify the Application Security Requirements
on Windows Vista.
Developers need a way to deploy the same build of the application on both Windows Vista and Windows XP. However, a new feature of Windows Vista, User Access Control (UAC) causes processes to run as standard user even if you are logged in with a user that is the member of the Administrators group. Resource Tuner allows you to patch a pre-existing binary exe to inject the RunAsAdministrator info into it so that it would be forced to run as Administrator on Windows Vista.

Advanced Command-Line Version.
Access and edit resources in large numbers of executable files with Resource Tuner Console. It accepts input from a VBScript file, using flexible scripting language, and provides an automated means of stamping file versions during the final stage of the build process, replacing an icon resource with an icon from an ico file, and many other features that take the drudgery out of manual editing and repetitive tasks.
